Speaking Up for the Unborn Babies

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves…” Proverbs 31:8   All of us were created by God in our mother’s womb. Psalm 139:13 says, “For You created my inmost being, You knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Every baby in a woman’s womb therefore, is precious to God. Now...

prayers for the philippines"The world says promises are made to be broken. But last Saturday God reminded me firmly that “promises are made to be spoken,” that is, spoken back to Him. If you’re familiar with the word “prophesy,” that is what God told me to do. (prophesy [prof-uh-sahy] verb - 1. to make inspired declarations of what is to come. 2. to speak as a mediator between God and humankind or in God's stead.) Prophesy to your nation. I believe that that is what He is telling His Church to do."
The above was the opening paragraph of a blog that I wrote a couple of months back. I was browsing through my journal and I realized that the said blog partly describes the vision of Kristiyanong Pinoy (KP). As mentioned in this month's Main Story, KP is going through major changes in preparation for its relaunch. We are also inviting Christians, especially article writers and editors, to partner with us in this endeavor. In view of that, allow me to share with you the rest of the blog, with a few extra lines added to it.:

Before I get anyone confused, let me first qualify that when I mentioned the word 'promises,' I am referring to those made by God. Mortal man is known to break many of the promises he makes. But God words, once He's spoken them, are bound to be fulfilled. The Bible says, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away." (Mt. 24:35) Habakkuk 2:2 exhorts us to wait for the fulfillment of God's Word, "Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and not delay."

But what are we to do while waiting? The Word of God says, "if you have faith and do not doubt... you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done.." (Mt. 21:21) What are the mountains that we would want to be thrown into the sea? Job 22:28 describes the our power to change circumstance and history, "You will decree a thing and it will be established for you and light will shine on your ways."

For too long we’ve placed our trust on politicians or govenment leaders who only frustrated our hopes with unfulfilled promises. Even the ones we used to love ended up failing our expectations. But the book of Daniel says that God is sovereign over the kingdoms of man and that God places in authority whoever he wants. (Book of Daniel) But how come what we are seeing right now is contrary to what we perceive God's sovereignty meant? Could it be that what we are missing is our part it making God's words come to pass?

The book of Proverbs says that the power of life and death lies in the tongue. (Proverbs 18:21) How are we using our tongue today? Are we speaking life to our nation? Are we decreeing God's will for our government and country? Or are we declaring the things that are with not a single clue that we were made to more than just identify (what we see)? We were made to prophesy - to speak things as though they were. This is what Holy Scripture says.

Perhaps, on the dusty pages of our journal, written are some promises spoken by God. Perhaps we have in the rusty parchments of our hearts, the prophecies for the Philippine - the promise of an economy that would surprise Hong Kong, or the promise of God's visitation in Mindanao… (link to Cindy Jacob's prophecy) But even as Moses led a nation in war by keeping his arms stretched upward, holding the staff of God’s authority entrusted into his hands, the Church at this hour, is entrusted with the crucial task of pressing on in faith. And let me just qualify that struggling so hard to believe is different from having a steadfast faith founded on the WORD of God and on the PROMISE made by Yahweh Himself. The latter cannot be shaken.

I dare not laugh as Sarah had laughed at God’s words when she was prophesied to give birth to a son. But I will DARE PROPHESY. I will declare the things that were not as if they already are. I will believe the evidence in my Spirit - the planted seed of God’s Word. And if I do not have a Word, I will ask God for a Word so that according to the measure of my faith it may be given to me (Mt. 9:29) for the Word of the Lord stands firm forever and it is the zeal of the Lord which will accomplish all He has spoken.

And I dare not break my vow to press on until I see my nation changed for:

Just as rain and snow descend from the skies
and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth,
Doing their work of making things grow and blossom,
producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry,
So will the words that come out of my mouth
not come back empty-handed.
They’ll do the work I sent them to do,
they’ll complete the assignment I gave them. (Isaiah 55:10-11)

Christians, we are warriors and we have a holy assignment. The power of life and death lies in OUR TOGUE and that authority we have in Christ is the key to changing this nation. Will you speak life or death? I challenge you to speak life. I DARE YOU to PROPHESY.
